Bernat blanket yarn:
• Black- head
• White- face
• Grey- body
• Orange- feet/beak
5mm crochet hook
8mm safety eyes
Stitch marker
Yarn needle

Stuffing

Abbreviations:

R- Round
MR- Magic ring
Ch- Chain
Sl- Slip stitch
Sc- Single crochet
Hdc- Half double crochet
Inc- Increase
Dec- Decrease
FLO- Front loop only
BOB- Bobble stitch with 6 loops on hook (5 hdc tog)
St/sts- Stitch/stitches
FO- Fasten off

Important note:
Orange text indicates when to change to orange yarn.
Bold text indicates when to change to white yarn.

Baby penguin crochet pattern

Start with head color: Black.
R1. 9 sc in MR (9)
R2. 9 inc (18)
R3. 6 sc, 2 sc, sc, 2 sc, 7 sc (18)
R4. 6 sc, 6 sc, 6 sc (18)
R5. 5 sc, 2 hdc in same st, 3 hdc in same st, 4 sc, 3 hdc in same st, 2 hdc in same st, 5 sc (24)

Insert eyes between rounds 4 & 5, 3 sts apart.
Embroider the beak between the eyes with orange yarn.
If some of the black spots from the color changes are showing on the face, you can use a yarn needle and the white yarn tail to cover them.
Stuff head.
Color change to body color: Grey.
R7. In FLO, 4 inc, wing, 5 inc, wing, 3 inc (24)
R8-9. sc around (24) (2 rounds)

Wings

Ch 3, starting in the 2nd ch from hook, sc, hdc, sl back into same st. (Don’t count the wings as sts, skip over them when crocheting the next round).
